Abstract

According to the regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 2406/MENKES/PER/XII/2011 concerning general guidelines for the use of antibiotics, it is stated that the relatively high intensity of antibiotic use causes various problems and is a global threat to health, especially bacterial resistance to antibiotics. In addition to having an impact on morbidity and mortality, it also has a very high negative impact on the social economy. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of patient knowledge about the use of antibiotics at the kasongan public health center. This research is a type of survey research using a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. In accordance with the objectives expected by the researcher, it can be concluded that the average level of knowledge of patients on the use of antibiotics at the Kasongan public health center is 42.84%% which is included in the category of "low" level of knowledge. Which means that there are still many people who do not understand how to use and function as well as various antibiotics. This is due to the lack of counseling/providing information on antibiotic drugs from local health workers. Keywords: antibiotics, Kasongan health center patient, knowledge level
