Abstract

Acne is a disorder of the skin that is characterized by inflammation accompanied by a blockage in the oil gland ducts in the skin caused by the bacterium Propioniumbacterium acnes. One of the drugs that can be used as acne medicine is jackfruit leaves. The combination of jackfruit leaf extract (Arthocarpus heteropyllus L.) is formulated into a cream preparation with varying concentrations of different combinations, then tested its activity against bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) by the disk diffusion method. The positive control used is patent product X and the negative control used is a cream base. The resulting cream formula can inhibit the growth of propionium bacterium. Formula 3 with 7% concentration of jackfruit leaf extract has the best activity with an average diameter of inhibition of 14.32 mm. Evaluation of cream preparations has optimal stability.
