Abstract

Red guava fruit is a fruit that contains high vitamin C but its utilization is less than optimal so that it should be made in the form of chewable tablet dosage. Chewable tablet is intended to be chewed and leave a residue with good taste in the mouth. This study aims to determine the effect of variations of amylum manihot crusher against physical properties of the dosage. Chewable tablet is formulated into 3 formulas with amylum manihot concentration of 5%, 10% and 15%. The method used is dry granulation. The evaluation of chewable tablet quality performed includes organoleptic, weight uniformity, size uniformity, hardness, friability and disintegration time which meet the requirements and the best formula is formula III. Physical properties are statistically analyzed using two-way ANOVA test which is done on the third formula at a temperature of 30°C and 40°C for 4 weeks. Based on ANOVA test, it can be concluded that the temperature and time have no effect on friability, hardness and disintegration of tablet with sig ≥ 0.05.
