Abstract

In the current state of COVID-19 pandemic, everyone needs to adopt a healthy lifestyle. One of the most effective ways is to increase the body's immune system, by consuming immunomodulators, such as Echinacea. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect between consuming supplements containing Echinacea and an increase in the immune system in the people of Kebon Bawang, North Jakarta in 2020. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross sectional method. The population of this research is the people in Kebon Bawang sub-District who consume supplements containing echinacea, with the sampling technique using probability sampling method with a total sample of 100 people. The data collection technique is using a questionnaire which previously tested the validity and reliability test first. Analisis data used univariate and bivariate analysis in the form of chi square. The results showed that there was a relationship between the respondents' education and the consumption of supplements containing echinacea, between age and the body's immune response and the relationship between the consumption of supplements containing echinacea and the body's immune response, which was indicated by a p value < 0.05.
